I know very well who I am, but selling myself is not really me. I am warm and always there for the people near me. I am comfortable in my own skin and love the dynamics between people.
I have a Dutch sense of humour, which means a laugh in a tear, if you know what I mean. It is a bit quirky as it usually translates into British a few seconds late... I enjoy my own company, but also that of others, am happy to sit still with a good book or while listening to music. I like to have a dig in the garden or to go for a walk, but also to trek in the Himalayas, or to explore the arts and good food of Italy or the French countryside with a friend.
I am not afraid of new experiences and have travelled all over the world; working and living in different places. I would even go as far as to say that travelling is an integral part of me and my life. I have enjoyed living in South Wales over the past two decades, on the edge of Gower, one of the world?s most beautiful coastlines, and am still doing so now, together with my teenage son.
I love my work and feel that I have the home-work balance just about right. I see myself as a lifelong learner, and growing intellectually and emotionally is important to me. Playing with digital technologies is part of my current life as I am surprised by their impact on the world, particularly on adult education, which is what I research for a PhD.
I would love to meet someone special to share interesting moments and thoughts with and if this paragraph does not tell you enough about me, please feel free to drop me a line. |
